emotional wreckage

The last thing I'd want after a hard and long day at school is to be berated with an army of questions the minute I stepped home. Bah.... but nevermind. Whatever you throw at me, I'll give you an answer. I may be lacking in computer skills, but television and av equipment is of no challenge.

I seem to be running out of ideas on what to blog about anymore. Sigh... anyway...CNY's in a week's time and I'm getting excited!! Haha...it means school only starts on Wednesday. Which is great 'cos Mondays and Tuesdays are the worst days of the week. Bleah. Monday blues literally take on a whole new meaning as it is non-stop lectures throughout the day with only 1 hr of break. How torturous is that.

So back to the topic of Chinese New Year...I love it because I get to eat really delicious food which my dad whips up effortlessly, like the mushroom dish, and the humongous tiger prawns, and the marvellous soup. Haha...Ooh...I can't wait.

I went to Carl's Junior yesterday for the first time to see what's all the hype and fuss about. And my family and I finally understood why so many people are crazy over it. The burgers are really good, made fresh with fresh ingredients with uber soft bread. All I can say is Wow. The only drawback is that its a tad too pricey.... yeah... so I think we'll only go there occasionally...

Think I'll go back to my tennis on tv. Ciaoz.

I think my tutors are a diverse bunch of people. One has a dry sense of humour when explaining math concepts, another has a booming voice, but both are very knowledgeable in their own fields. In science lesson, we had a tutor who just rattlled off science facts as if he was telling a story! Wow...but I must say I've learnt more in this single session than any other in the previous sem. Yea, he dosen't exactly go through the tutorial questions per se, but I think they were horribly designed anyway. What's important is that we have the basic knowledge. That's what I feel... I mean, its time we move away from the emphasis of just completing tutorials for the sake of completing them... adaptability is key in today's society. We can't expect tutors to provide answers to every single question...can we? Sigh...think I'm just tired...and I have an 8.30 lesson tomorrow! Ahhh... Looking forward to thursday though...heh. The only lesson is cancelled... but I plan to clean the floor, have a hair cut, and go for blood donation. Sigh...there goes my "free" day. :(

It has been raining the whole day. Seems that the rain has come quite late...instead of it being a rainy December, it has officially become a rainy January. The weather has gone haywire. Haha.. Its such great weather to just curl up in bed and sleep. Oh well, tomorrow is going to be a tiring day I think. 5 consecutive lectures with just a 1 hr break in between. Sigh... better stock up on sweets to keep me awake.

Whose Line?

I'm officially addicted to Whose line is it anyway. Its the best showmanship of talent and improvisation. Wayne Brady is simply fantastic in terms of his musical sense, dance moves and not forgetting his voice. He's so talented! Its just so entertaining to watch them act impromptu. Haha...

Today's first lesson of DCM 100 has already surpassed my expectations of this module. Our tutor has such a wealth of experience and his pedagogical skills are superb. Wow, even though it was a 3hr tutorial, it really didn't seem like it. I think what I've learnt in the 2 1/2 hrs workshop is even more than what Ive learnt from a single module last year. Ok, except maybe Ed Pysch... Anyways, its very interesting to gain insight into Maths Curriculum and why it is important to have good habits of mind. Fantastic. Looking very much forward to the next workshop. Woohoo!

Hmnz...today, I met 2 very happy school cleaners who smiled and attempted to make conversation with us. They were so cheerful and friendly. Why am I bringing this up? Simply because many of us spend time looking so glum and going through the daily grind and do not make the effort to say a "hi" to an acquaintance and I thought it was really nice of the auntie and uncle to smile and make small talk. So anyway, my point is you will only be happy if you make an effort to. YOU choose to be happy, not circumstances. Okie folks...time to "boil porridge" on the phone...Heh. :) Ciaoz.

Although this week is supposed to be slack in terms of the number of lessons, I have to go to school on every day of the week anyway. Moreover, I only have one lesson per day of the week for the whole of this week!!! Someone just shoot me please! The session on Friday is not even a lesson. Its a module which is not graded but we have to attend anyways. Sigh. And... tomorrow, I'm only going to school for a 1hr tutorial. How sad is that? 3 hrs and 30 mins of travelling for a 1hr tutorial!!!! Argh. TO add to my woes, I'm having sinus problems. :(
