Bah. Apparently, yesterday was just a prelude. Haha, there's an even bigger turnout today, and the usual dinner/auction.

Am thinking of getting a zen micro...itchy fingers lah. Comex show coming... sigh. Like that how to save? Hmph! Like that how to save?

Getai

Hokay....there goes my plan to study and do some work. Someone give me earmuffs please? How to concentrate with the music in the background? Grrr....

That's probably the only drawback of staying here, right next to an open field designated for such activities. Sigh. Other than that, I have no other complains. Yupz.

Anyway, I've got hammies again! 3 dwarf baby hammies!! Whee...they look so lovey dovey and good natured. So cute, they actually cuddled together to sleep. Thank you Emma's friend. :)

Kiasuism

A typical Singaporean syndrome which affects people from all walks of life.

Argh. Why must people spoil market? I don't understand.

YUCKS!

I hate powdery apples! Hpmh, apparently, my favourite crunchy apples are out of season. Sobsob... :(

Burn

Wow, just witnessed a Merc going up in flames on the ECP just now...about 9.35pm... It went up in flames just as we came into view of it...there was slow moving traffic before that already, so we were wondering what was happening. It was kinda scary, cos the fire was raging quite fiercely. Thank goodness driver was already out.

I think I'm gonna have a phobia of Bb soon...evertime I log on, there are new msg for me to read. Gosh! I'm going to go mad soon! But have to hang in there, cos its graded! Gulp. So have to put in some effort lah. Otherwise I will heck care.

Myopia

Its little wonder why myopia is on the rise rapidly among kids in Singapore.

Consider this.

With the increasing use of IT in the schools, and independent online learning and what-not, of course we have to spend a considerable amount of time on the computer. What more if you are facilitating an online discussion with your peers, and furthermore, are being graded on that? Rings a bell? Needless to say, your eyesight will deteriorate. Yeah, of course to minimise that, we have measures in place like educating the young on the importance of resting their eyes every 30-45 mins spent on the computer. I mean, do you even have the time to take a break? Most of us have to be pried away from the computer, to say the least. Life is too fast-paced for us to take a rest. However, I think its good they are starting young nowadays, at least when they grow older, the habits would be already inculcated(hopefully).

Lethargic. Swamped with work. Thank goodness its Thursday tomorrow. My worst day of the week is over.

Anyway, I have been eating outside food for dinner for 3 consecutive days already. I think its an achievement, considering how my parents prefer to cook at home whenever possible. Haha... but I just checked the fridge and noticed it was empty! That probably explains why mum hasn't been cooking. Heh.

So, tests are coming up, slowly but surely. The first one being a Math Quiz, and it HAS to fall on MY birthday! Hmph! I am speechless. Math quiz is on next Friday....hope all goes well.

Hmmn...I noticed that my resolve to curb unnecessary spending this month seems to be coming along fine. Though there's close to half a month left to my next paycheck. Must continue to persevere. Funny how when I stepped into a dhopping centre, there was no urge to buy things. Hurhur.

On another note, my grandma has to go for an operation for her knee in Nov. Hmnz...think its a standard procedure for elderly who has problems with their knees caused by osteo-arthritis. But, of course there's always a certain amount of risk. Really hope all goes well.

Back to the books.

Household matters

Hehe...just cleaned the floor using a brand-new vacuum cleaner!! It was a world of difference from the previous one. Haha... I feel happy just vacuuming the floor, 'cos it required less effort than the previous one! And the suction power was so much better. Ahh....I have a new favourite household toy.

After vacuuming, I wanted to mop the floor. Once I switched on the tap, water started leaking from the pipe. I got a shock as I tried to figure out an explanation for it. The water was gushing out like all hell broke loose! Luckily, my brain prevailed, so I went out to turn off the water mains. Phew. At least the water will not gush out until my dad returned to check it out. Turns out that after 8 faithful years, it has decided to give way. Because of the heat of the water, it caused a hole in the wall mounted bracket or something like that. Yeah...so dad is fixing it up now with new fittings. Sigh..think the water heater needs to be replaced soon too, 'cos the lifespan is about 8 years too. Thankfully, my dad is good with water and electricity works... he is a certified plumber I think.:) That's why I want a husband who is a handyman in future. Haha.

To whom it may concern: I'm glad I could be of help. :)

Glad that they both cleared the air! So happy for them.

*There are always opportunities in every challenge.

My new toy

Haha...yeah...I have a new toy! MY laptop! Yippee! Its so much more convenient! Say bye-bye to queuing up for use of computers in lab!! Can connect anywhere on campus...how cool is that? Okies, I shall stop gushing about my laptop. Have to remain sane... :) Well, 2 more days to the weekend! Woohoo!

Weird morning

Do you know that every MRT ride is a different experience? Heh...people on the train never fail to fascinate me. Anyway, this morning, on the way to school, I was woken up by a man apparently singing along to his music player. To top that off, he was actually singing hokkien songs!!! My goodness! I have no idea whether he's just thick skinned or just plain cuckoo. So for the whole of 10-15 mins, many others and I were entertained by his off-key singing. Ok lah, at least I was kept awake after that. :)

This singing thing didn't stop there. Yeah, when I was on the bus, I was standing beside this girl who was singing along to some music on her headphones too! But guess what? It was even more off-key than the man's. Wahaha....thankfully, she stopped after that particular song. That must be her favourite song huh?

Had a fun time with Emm and Lav after sch at IKEA today. Went shopping for some stuff they needed. Anyway, in the middle of the walking, Emm suddenly remarked that I was tired already. I was quite pleasantly surprised by that remark. Haha...it must have been because I suddenly became increasingly quiet and prolly had the "stoning" facial expression. But the thing is, I didn't know my facial expression was so obvious. But anyhow, there you go. If choy has become quiet and dosen't seem to take part in conversations, it means she's tired. :) And she seldom says out loud that she's tired. She usually just keeps quiet. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing though. My prospective boyfriend had better be as observant as Emm though. :)

Work is piling up.

If all goes well, Man Utd would have won their first match! Woohoo! The first goal by Nistlerooy was a beauty. Second goal was by Rooney and it looked damn easy. Park Ji Sung was very quick. Liked his play.

Anyway, just finished reading a great book which Jac lent me. Its called Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. It was very touching. Haven't read such a good book in a long time.

Tired. Shall sleep in tomorrow.

Techie Gripes

Technology is a double-edged sword. I think we rely too heavily on it. When I want to do stuff, the portal is always coincidentally down. I swear these things and me just don't click. Argh. And I can't access this particular site which means that I can't do my ICT assignment! Darn! Gotta do it in school then. No choice.

On another note, I will get my Acer 5502 lappie on next Tues! Yippee! Can't wait! Will have to get everything fixed up though. Think I'll have to flash my nicest smile at the IT guys on the 4th floor. Haha.

Met up with Jac yesterday. Watched Charlie for the 2nd time. Heh. Then went over to Jac(k)'s place(pun intended) for dinner. Hehe...Food was great as usual. Company was superb. What more can I ask for? Okies, back to my book. More suntanning this weekend! Whee!

Exhausted

Played badminton with dad, bro and xm today. Used up lotsa energy, and felt really exhausted after that. I'm still feeling the effects now. Then went over to xm's place to watch NDP parade, with pizzas, fruits and icecream It was a feast.

Anyway, came home and showered and decided to do some work. However, in order to do that, I have to log on to portal to do it. But alas! The idiotic thing refused to load. I can't bloody access it! Urgh. I hate it when it happens. Its quite rare I have the mood to do work, and just when I'm feeling harworking, it decides not to let me do it. There's nothing much to say. I might as well go to lala-land now and get my much-needed sleep.

life's great!

What can I say? Life's great, great friends...what more can I say? I don't think I've ever enjoyed school any more than this! Yeah... though there are MANY assignments coming up...just see those obstacles as opportunities. Every obstacle is an opportunity. If you think you will fail, you will fail. Yupz, words of wisdom from choy.

Anyway, looking forward to the weekend! Suntan time! Hope the weather will hold up. Ciaoz.

Think I'm officially broke. Just spent a hundred bucks on a pair of shoes...no choice, cos my shoe is coming apart soon. And anyway, there was like 30% off the shoes at sportslink@queensway...so that's good. But its still money spent. Let's see, I shall try to refrain from any spending unless it is absolutely necessary. Like a laptop. I also wanna save for a new hp at the end of sept. Argh. And the transport expenses are killing me!

Anyway, school has been quite ok. Lessons which I'm looking forward to are the english and the Ed-Psych ones. Maths and science are ok...but I dread ICT. Yup...

A little nugget of information: 12% of the world's population has BPD-Borderline Personality Disorder. A disorder which is hard to detect, it affects certain groups of people. The top 3 professions who are prone to it are: Teachers, Counsellors and the Police. Surprised? Oh well, there's nothing more I can say. In addition, which is the most common profession of IMH patients? You guessed it right. Teachers. Haha...

Urgh...what's wrong with tag-board?

Anyway, its only the first day of school and yet I'm doing readings already...muahaha. Yea, gonna be a "chao-mugger". Sigh, but isn't it a good thing to be hardworking? Yes yes, must get going now 'cos work is only gonna pile up. Ciao.
