Haha...think I had an overdose of 'mother-in-law's' orange cake yesterday... Thank you pickles. :) If you have any more cakes which need to help to be finished in future, just let me know. Lol. I sound like a glutton.

getai madness

Ahhh...its the 'getai season' again. And I need earmuffs to block out the music. This is one disadvantage to the block of flats that I stay in....just right beside a big field. Sigh...you can't have your cake and eat it I guess. The getai is quite famous cos the whole field is packed to the brim! Grrr...

Anyway, I have one assignment down....many more to go. Oh well, at least the tutor seemed to be more humane and cheerful today, and I guess under his icy exterior, he is genarally nice lah. We were all so relieved after the presentation, but kudos to my group members for pulling through together.

I feel that it is very important to manage your emotions in class, regardless of whether you are a beginning teacher or a very experienced teacher and also regardless of who your students are. I think all of us in class were shocked by the things he said and the way he handled situation yesterday. The irony of the whole thing is, in another tutorial today, our tutor was talking about the same topic and she pointed out the inappropriateness of certain language used in class as a teacher. I think what she said pretty much reaffirmed our conclusions we came to at the end of yesterday's lesson.

battered and bruised

I think I'm infected with a disease, otherwise known as the clumsiness disease. Sigh. due to the abovementioned disease, while getting from one boat to another, yours truly did a spectacular fall and landed in the water, in between the 2 boats. How wonderful right? Moreover, I was unceremoniously pulled back into the boat by a strongman singlehandedly. Sigh...Some consequences of the fall as I found out much later are a big bruise on my knee, a cut on my elbow and a bruised spirit. The way I fell was super unglam.... sigh. Anyway, lesson to be learnt.

Met uncle hong kit and peina at tamp today...nice catching up with her...

And...the bloody strap of my tote bag broke today...Urgh. I just had it for like 8 months or so...so not long-lasting. Bleah. Its a sign...I have to get a new bag soon.

Oh yeah, have to prepare a lesson plan on the topic of education, schools and society to teach our classmates. How exciting right? But there's so much to think about and to plan what is suitable in such a short time. Grrr..... But then again, I'd rather get it over and done earlier so I can concentrate on other assignments later in the sem.

Another thing, it really makes a difference as to which tutors you get. This sem, we have a very good tutor who taught me more(in 2 hours) than what I learnt the whole of last sem's DCE 100. It says a lot doesn't it?

tune your sails/ tune your brain

Heh, its time to tune my brain back to NIE-mode again. Sigh, I think I'll have some withdrawal symptoms soon....not sure what though...but yeah. Was busy clearing my table which is covered with bills and all sorts of letters and papers. Urgh....so messy. To add to my misery, my nose has just started to itch from the copious amounts of dust.

So its back to the same old routine, just that this sem, I'll have a shorter week, 4-day week to be exact, with my days starting no earlier than 10.30am, and ending no later than 4.so pm. Cool. Sigh, at last, we see some semblance of sanity. Hahahah...

I really think someone should give me a big triangle to hang on the powerboat for everyone to see when I drive. So that others can steer clear of a sotong like me. Ok, I shan't be too hard on myself, as the saying goes, practice makes perfect. For the first time, I drove the powerboat up the trolley today. It takes a fair bit of skill to do that.... but luckily, I had the Ops crew and T to guide me. Thanks to them...

Ok, back to more packing and clearing of stuff. Shall update whenever I can.

gastric flu

Yeah...down with gastric flu...some viral infection is the cause of it. Had a fever which was like 38.5 deg at its highest(at the doc's). But already arranged to meet huiyi beforehand, so had to go meet her, defying doc's orders to stay home and rest. Heh. Anyway, I think the fresh air is good for recovery, instead of being cooped up at home. Weird, its like i'm stress-free now, but the gastric flu still hit me. It was a good catch-up session though... :]

Stupid cranky gastro-intestinal system of mine. Bleah. Deprived me of sleep.
