Yesterday was highly enjoyable. Although I had to go back to school in the morning for work review. After that, had a bonding session over tea with 2 other "bellas". Yup...all 3 bellas will be in P3 next year! Yay! Happiness. Then lazed around at home until evening...had staff D&D at four seasons last night. Entertainment was good, company was good, but food was so-so. I quite enjoyed myself lah. Had lots of fun watching teachers playing games. Oh ya... congrats to Emma-bella in clinching the 'Most Inspiring Teacher' award! In case you are wondering, students voted fot the teacher. Yep..
Think holidays for me officially started yesterday.Have time to do lots of stuff....but don't really know where to start! Quite bored now, bro has gone to Batam for a week! Bummer. No one to disturb. I have always wondered how does an only child occupy him or herself at home. House is so quiet now, dad went for his bonding session over drinks. Again I wonder, do men at the age of 45 and above have absolutely nothing better to do than go drinking? Mum's on the night shhift today.
I have noticed that many of ex-tkgians are teachers! In the school where I am teaching, there are no less than 6 ex-tkgians. Wow. I am amazed. I'm sure there must be something good about the education it provides ya? Its culture...school values... Gosh...I miss those days back in TK...

Rejuvenated!
Hmnz...seems that after the mini "makeover"...I feel "lighter" and refreshed. And thank goodness I don't have to go back to school unecessarily come 1st Dec. So I'm beginning to feel happier already... :) Let's see, what did I do today? Today was quite a productive one, cleaned the hammies' cages, did a little housework which included ironing my clothes. And....surprisingly... I did not even feel tired after doing all those stuff. Wow. Must be a milestone. Heh...Time really flies. Its been 4 months since I started teaching and I've learnt a lot. Sure its been tiring and frustrating at times, but all in all its been rather saitsfying and fulfilling. I'm sure the the next 6 months of school will also pass by with the bat of an eyelid.
Oh yeah...had seafood for dinner just now...went to Jumbo seafood restaurant..food was good, service was efficient. Overall, a good meal. Yep, it was also held in celebration of my bro's birthday which is tomorrow. Happy 14th birthday bro! Hope you have a great year ahead! Right, that's all for now. Grandma's coming over tomorrow. Feast day again! Gonna be a glutton soon. Sarah should know. :) Enjoy whatever's left of your weekend folks!

Shudder?
Watched The Shutter yesterday and it was really scary. Still can't believed I was actually persuaded to watch a horror movie. Anyway, my belief still stands. I will not pay to scare myself.Oh, I unexpectedly met two of Sarah's firends whom I have previously seen in photos taken together with her. It was quite funny because I saw these two guys standing by the railings while Sarah was talking to me. I thought one of them looked vaguely familiar and she didn't mention anything. Moments later, it suddenly struck me that both of them were her friends. Haha...
Anyway, staff dinner is coming! Yeah! On this coming Monday, at Four Season's hotel. And...I have a new hairstyle to go with. Hehe...I am sure those who know me will definitely get a shock. Yup. I'll post the photo later. But I don't know whether the P will have anything to say regarding my "punk" hairstyle.
Ah Choy's little reflection of the day: Change is inevitable. It is the only thing that is constant. People always hate changes because they put us in unfamiliar and uncomfortable situations and it forces us to adapt. But if there is no change, we will always be stagnant. So I guess we just have to take it as it comes. Have an open mind and I'm sure there is no mountain too big for us to climb. Have a good weekend ahead!

Information Overload
Spent the whole day at Downtown East for school planning seminar today. Well, main thing is that my brain juice is all dried up and I can't think anymore. I'm more mentally tired than physically tired. And they provided so much food for us that I feel stuffed up. Ultimate gluttony feeling today. Anyway, looking forward to gathering at Agnes' place tomorrow. Yay! On another note...met a few new teachers who are joining us from other schools. Although there are two male teachers, sad to say none of them are eye candy. Sigh. I'm disappointed. Ooh...and a warm welcome to Peina...Sarah's friend. And another female teacher...didn't catch her name, but can teach organ. Wow...she's really pretty...and married. She's probably in her mid-twenties. Yep...that's about it. Don't want to tax my brain any further.Sunday, November 21, 2004
Lovely
Today was great! Finally got to sail...after almost 1 year? And realised that I'm pretty rusty. But I had lots of fun! Haha... Sailed the laser pico...fun leisure boat...but nonetheless, fun. Probably gonna help out during Dec regatta as well... Think this is gonna be quite a busy hols for me. Well, busy's good. Better than slacking aaround and getting to much sleep. Heh. Ooh...yeah, and I got a tan today. Man, it felt really good. Didn't actually realise how fair I was! Gosh. Right...back to scholl tomorrow for meetings and more meetings. Have a good week ahead!Saturday, November 20, 2004

Heh...forgot to blog about The Incredibles....It was a great movie! Wow. Superb! I strongly recommend this movie to all of you. I totally enjoyed it and if there's a sequel, I'll probably go catch it.Shocked
Gosh...I can't believe that Olinda was voted of Singapore Idol! Hmph. But at least Taufik's still in the competition. He's improved tremendously!!
Right...This weekend's gonna be quite busy...Going down to SAFYC to help Tracey out tomorrow. Yay! Looking forward to it. It better not rain. I want to tan!

Phew. Was out of the house for a total of 13+ hours today. Wow. Can't believe it. Was out at 7am.... came back at 9pm. Power right? Sigh...so tired...and I gotta be in school at 8.30 am tomorrow. Oh wells...
Let's see...Was in school in the morning till about 1pm for prize-giving day. After that went down to Tamp central to eat lunch, watched the Incredibles!. Then shopped a little....and then had dinner. Thereafter, went to catch a musical staged by Telok Kurau Pri Sch. I think it was quite well done I must say. I enjoyed myself for the most part of the musical. I don't think WSPS students would have pulled it off as well as they did. Eh...not that I look down on my kids lah...but some of my students cannot even articulate themselves properly. Thanks to Sunshine who invited me...I love musicals....of almost any kind. :)
Okay, so that's a brief summary of my life today in a nutshell. Gotta go off to dreamland soon...another long day again tomorrow.

Back Pain
Yeah...you got it right. Ah Choy here has back pain....at the ripe old age of 19. Gosh, I'm not even past 20 and I'm having back problems already! It all started last Sunday....I was mopping the floor and then I wanted to throw away the dirty water. So I bent down, lifted up the pail of water and sprained my back. Yeah...silly right? Well, it happened. The pain was so bad I couldn't walk properly and couldn't even sit down without difficulty. After that, throughout the whole week, my back was still a little sore and achey. And just now, it started raining and im my rush to get the clothes in, I almost sprained it again. I got 4 bamboos in but there was still one more, and it had like 2 pairs of jeans hanging on it. It was freaking heavy so I had to ask my dad to take it in. Sigh, I feel so weak and useless and helpless.

Aloha!
Hi peeps. Can see the mould forming on the blog...dunnoe why...juz dun have the mood to blog. Oh well, exams are over, marking frenzy over, now's the "keying in of remarks" frenzy. Yeah...was quite happy my class did better than CA2...or so I think. Cos they managed to catch up with the class which is supposed to be better than them. So I should be happy right? Not really... I just can't wait for the hols to come....3 long weeks.Anyway, just a short update on my life....my bro got into Sports School! Gd for him. Think I'm gonna miss him when his school term starts. Cos he's gonna be staying there.
Haha...my kids amaze and amuse me everyday. A kid juz made my day yesterday by saying "Teacher, I think you slimmed down a bit." When I heard it, I almost burst into laughter. Lol...I manged to contain my laughter and sneaked a little smile and ask him whether he was very sure. His group member saw me having a conversation and smiling, decided to be curious and wanted to know what we were talking about. Now, here comes funny part #2. The boy who flattered me said "Aiyah, we're talking about girls' stuff lah. You don't know one." My goodness, I almost died laughing!
Today, this same kid again proved to me that kids are really observant. He made another incredulous statement today. About the way I dress. Today, he said, "Eee, Teacher, I don't like what you are wearing today." And I thought that today was one of the few days on which I thought I was professionally dressed. I was at a loss for words.
Something else happened involving another kid. Now, this boy really ought to take up drama to hone his "talent". Let me tell you what happened. Ok, let me set the scene for you first. I actually called this boy, Shaun, out to tell him not to talk too loudly. And, while I was talking to him, I pointed by finger to him. Now, he apparently found it amusing, so feeling cheeky, he said something to me, at the same time, pointing his finger at me. Ok, have you seen Chinese Opera? The way they use their index fingers when they sing opera? Yeah, something like that. I couldn't bring myself to scold him cos he wasn't intentionally being rude to me. He was just cheeky, so I laughed. Seeing that I was amused, he subsequently acted "gay". You know the way they wave their hands around? Yes, he did exactly that...and imitated a gay exactly to the T. I was totally stunned for the moment. Needless to say, the rest of his classmates were laughing and calling him "gay". Gosh.
Anyway, if you aren't laughing, I don't blame you. This is the best I can do to illustrate what happened. Of course, it is at its funniest when you experience it for yourself.
On another more serious and sad note, a grandfather of my colleague passed away just this afternoon. And it reminded me about my own grandfather, who is staying at a nursing home now as my grandmother is unable to care for him at home. I don't know how much longer he'll live, but we don't exactly have high hopes either. His leg muscles have degenerated so much that he can't walk. Although he remains alert to his surroundings, his memory is failing him and dementia has probably set in. He can converse with you, but he talks about things which have no relation to our conversation with him.
Ah Choy's reflection of the day: Have you ever wondered why graves are known to be one of the "richest" places on earth? This is because when we die, we die with so much hidden potential in us that are yet to be discovered. And we did not make full use of it when we were alive. So, do not make the same mistakes our forefathers did. Instead, make sure you live your life to the fullest each and every day because you never know when it is your time to leave this world.
